Picture this: a buzzing exhibit hall, higher education leaders from institutions all over the world milling about, TV screens flashing everywhere highlighting services and technologies. You turn the corner and see a grassy oasis, blue sky, a comfortable seat, a snack, and friendly faces. A Conference Survival Kit awaits you: a collection of necessities you may need while away from home: Advil, band aids, stain wipe, mints, a notebook, and ear plugs. This little section of the exhibit hall stands out from the others.
This is Story+Structure.
With humans at the center of what we do, we created an unusual and inviting space–and piqued the interest of conference-goers.
More than 500 higher education leaders from around the country gathered in Orlando to experience new technology implementation, practical strategies for success, and high-level networking at UBTech, an annual conference hosted by University Business. As a first-time presenter and exhibitor, Story+Structure had the wonderful opportunity to educate the community about our human-centered design approach to creating solutions.
Guy Felder, Chief Strategist, presented to an excited crowd. We showcased the work we’ve done with Cal State University, East Bay. With the message of making sure any technology decision is made using a holistic approach that meets the needs of the users, we showed how human-centered design can revolutionize the student experience.
Our presentation aligned with the UBThrive Program theme: Institutional & Student Success. This program explored the innovative paths that higher ed leaders are taking to ensure institutional and student success, particularly in the areas of student experience, recruitment, and retention.
